Default How do anglers know a stockie?

How do anglers know when they caught a stockie?

Are stockies fatter and have more of the magenta stripe than fish that have been put in for a while?

The fins are normaly ragged and probably some will be deformed.the fish are usually fatter.they will probably have a nose that is rubbed white.when gutted they will have a enlarged gall bladder(big lump of white fat)

When just stocked .the fish swim about in a shoal.and are an easy target for any fly/lure swum past them.

A fish that has reverted to natural food rather than living on it's fat reserves, and makes it through a winter, whereby it will have attained it's natural shape and it's fins have repaired themselves. a far nicer fish to catch, and for some strange reason seem more succeptable to the dry fly.,might have something to do with natural food
