Thumbs up Leighton

I have fished Leighton Res alot this year and never had a bad day , what always suprises me is how few people acutally fish the place.
Even on the best days there never seems to be more than 10 people on the place and the fish are amazing. Really strong fighters, a good size avr about 2-3lb with a lot lot larger fish in there (had 11lb and 13lb with a loads between 5-9lb)
If you are in the North Yorkshire area and looking for a great days fishing I can think of a lot worse than a day at leighton. The bailiffs Wendy and Andrew always there to give good advice and have a chat with you and make you feel very welcome.

Sounds a nice uncrowded venue, diamoind. Shame I live so far away as would love to try it some time.

I've had a few days there this year with a guy up my street, we've always had good days and enjoyed every minute, very underestimated place if you ask me.

Was there last week, whilst on holiday. In a short half day session I managed 2 fish at 3lb and one 8 - 9 lb (personal best). Good quiet venue if you don't mind the wind.

There was no bailiff on that day though, but had spoken to a lady the evening before when I went to check it out, who was very helpful.

You need to be aware of any matches that may be fished as they sometimes close the reservoir to other anglers. There was a Theakstons match on the Saturday and Sunday, day before I fished. The res.. was closed to none participents.
