Default Zhu Fishing Gear Warranty

Hello just as the title says i just thought if any forum members have had to contact Zhu about faulty items or replacement rods or broken tops, reels, silk line. as some know on here i do rate the rods he sells and have 2 i use as my son too and know others on here, my concern is some months ago i had need to replace a reel and silk line to a forum member and was fully promised by Zhu after sending photos that these items would be replaced without the need to return. but since then after repeated emails this has not been done and there has been no contact from him. i thought he was a man of his word but alas he seems to be like other chinese companies i have dealt with and feel business forum members from this site might know too. yes maybe i should not put faith in having these items replaced, and dont think i will purchased from him again unless of course i get what he promised. i welcome any thoughts. thankyou

What is the feedback like from his recent sales on his ebay store?
I know that there is a US company (one of a few) building on top of his blanks and buyers are having a hard time getting any response from them regarding warranty replacements - I don't know if the two events are linked.
However it doesn't take a cheap Chinese tackle maker to be evasive in making good promises made for replacement of failed or dodgy tackle.
A few years back I bought an expensive rod from a well known international maker - I did the due diligence, contacting a range of his current clients for their opinions, and having a long series of email correspondence with the maker. Finally when I was satisfied, I placed the order, paid for it (unfortunately by Western Union as requested) and waited till it was delivered.
It was a complete piece of cr*p with so many faults it was difficult to believe that there were so many people offering positive opinions of his work. When I contacted him, he blamed the poor work on the delivery company, but promised to give me a new one gratis. After 3 attempts spanning more than 2 years to get the promised replacement rod, I accepted that I was conned.
Though he thoroughly deserved it I did not "name and shame", and later found others who had the same experience as me.
The moral? Get reliable recommendations for any item you can't see for yourself and make sure you pay with Paypal or a Credit Card!

Well I did tell you.
I purchased some ferrules a long time ago from this guy just to see what they were like, complete junk I would not ever fit one on a rod

I have not seen any more rods from this guy because I now refuse to work on them.

I am one who rates them as well, never had a moments problem with mine, joints are tight, and make the same popping noise as any other cane rod I have, or have used, and I include Hardy and Timmy Harris in that.
Mine has had extensive use, and looks and feels as good as the day I got it.
Excellent finish, casts well, and with two tops delivered for £120 I have no complaints, looked after it will see me out.

I bought a reel off him on ebay and did not provide any feedback until I had received and tried it. It did not meet my expectations & I sent it back and I got my money back. I guess that's one tool you have at your disposal if he is refusing to react.
