Default Greys G tec or Orvis Western 3

What do you guys think?

I love the G tec, never used a Western 3 before.

.........any advice? (had #6 in mind)

(oh and what about Western3 10 foot #4 for nymphing, any ideas?)

Heard good things about both rods, however, that little thumb patch on the G-Tec is gay, as is Grey's customer service.

Don't give them any ideas, next thing you know they re-launch them in a nice pink colour scheme!

You can say what you like about the G-Tec it is one of the best rods I have ever used.

i've got a G-tec and i love it, got it the january sales for £150

i have a sage z-axis which is twice the price of my G-tec but i prefer the G-tec, thats how much i rate it

Vowed never to buy hardy greys product again but i got the g-tec for £125 and i hate to say it but this has now become my go to rod,great rod.

Both rods are a good choice, I suggest having a play with both before buying. The Western 3 is a fantastic rod, beating many more expensive models.

The 10 foot 4 weight is as you suggest a very useful tool on the river

hi

ive two g-tecs sadly mine were bought at top price nice rods for light work sadly ive a dodgy one poor wipping and the finish poor yet try getting anything out of hardys well ok just send us 40 notes for spare parts there pulling the pish for a 10 pound import

I've just bought a Western 3 and I think the finish on it is better than my Grey's rod, the fact that it had 30% off was also an incentive to like it . Have a look at Fly Fishing Rods / Western3 105-3 Tip Fly Rod -- Orvis UK the rod you fancy for £111.30
