Default Grafham First Visit??

I'm off for my first visit to Grafham tomorrow and only my third day fly fishing if you count the beginners course I did?

Any suggestions on what patterns of flies to use, methods depths and locations? I'm going with an experienced fly fisherman who is a traditionalist?

Any help and advice would be very much apppreciated?

Regards

BM

Hi, I fished today. Fish all over and not deep. I picked up most fish drifting between sailing club bay and e.buoy. also had fish between gaynes cove and the dam and at g buoy. They are well spread out still. Orange and white or green and white cats on a fast inter did it for me. Had one on a shrimp pattern too and they are feeding on them hard so worth a go. I found lures picked up more fish though. Good luck, let us know how you get on

No boats out at Grafham yesterday due to the wind!

I wne to Ravensthorpe instead and had my first fly caught trout! Ended up with six!

Now I can see what all the fuss is about!

Thanks guys, you wouldn't have wanted to work with me today, all I could concentrate on was getting back to Grafham on Thursday!
