Thumbs up Oak Royal

Oak Royal in the morning, intermediate line and montana. Battered them last week on this method, fished really slow. Bin told doubles present, big browns were feeding last week, hope to hit one of them. Roll on the wind and rain.

Well done. Oak Royal isn't as easy as some would like to make out, especially if the wind is whistling across it.

If you are getting a lot of tugs on long tailed lures but not hooking, you can try cutting the tail shorter. However this can sometime dry the takes up.

Change the speed and style of your retrieve.

When you miss a tug, either stop dead for a few seconds, or speed up the retrieve. Sometimes both.

By experimenting, it's often possible to change tugs into fish.

Apologies if you already know this.

On all my visits the finish seem only to take on a slow retrieve. Small nymphs work well (black/green montana). The water seems to finish better when the wind is slightly blowing or flat calm. Try to stay away from the lures myself but orange and cats whiskers do take fish . tight lines
