Question Fishing dumfries & galloway

I am looking for some budget river fishing in the D&G area - I have a static caravan in the area and get up there a lot.

I want to join a club so I can fish any time I am up in God's country. Trouble is, as my other half fishes I need to pay for 2 memberships. Also, as I am from outside the region tickets cost more - eg £200 per year for Newton Stewart AA..........

So does anyone know of any season tickets in the area at reasonable cost? I hear whispers about the Bladnoch.......................

Dumfries Burgh was £172.50 this year but its a reasonable travel if you have your caravan out that way.

Aye mate I know about the Nith and Cree, as in my post I have to pay for 2 of us so £175 is still too much (isn't that price only for local residents? Trouble is most of the fishing is based around Salmon when we are Troot fishers who ocasionally fish for Salmon

That price for the Burgh is for the Season Visitor ticket, not sure what it will be next year, normally set at meeting in early February.

I think you may struggle to find cheap river fishing for trout. Most of the rivers in D&G have salmon and sea trout running them and clubs are set up around that with extras like NS offering loch fishing, therefore costs are normally on the salmon fishing and not trout although many local club members will fish for trout only.

Best just to keep asking and enquiring when you are up visiting, it may throw up a wee gem somewhere, but nothing is springing to mind at this time.
