Default ssssshhhhhh

Dont tell the misses. I have bought myself a new rod, reel and 3 lines lol.

I have been using my sonic 5# for most if not all my fishing of late. Even on kennick, chew and wimbleball. its got a nice action for fishing smaller waters and smaller flies without fear of brakeages. But it just folds up on full casting alittle and the wind can affect turn over due to line weight. My old 8# , some 21 years old i bought with my pocket money from working on the fish farm is now far too heavy and clumbersome, still capable of chucking a huge line into a head wind, but by the end of a day the wrist plays havock.

So i have had a 10' 7# made for me on harrison blank. A wedgewood reel completes it.

I picked it up today and i think i have just about stopped drewling now lol.

Here i come fishy, sundays your unlucky day lol.

Hey, I've done the same and I've got more rods than the average tackle shop. My latest aquisition is a Guideline 9ft, 9wt for chucking 8 inch pike flies which should prove an interesting diversion from the usual 16s, 18s, and 20s.

But the feeling, having a new rod, with the opportunity for whole new range of opportunities and adventures is absolutely priceless even when you've been doing for more years than you care to admit.

With a new rod that enables you to cast much further - I ask myself if there will be any fish left in Kennick for the rest of us. Enjoy
Bill

Ooo, sounds nice.

One of the regulars at Kennick used to build rods on Harrison blanks. Lovely rods... Arggghh can't remember his name errr... Alan (possibly???) Ex prison officer, lives in Newton Abbot????

Anyway, was it one of his?

Yes it is " Allan Riddell". He's quite well known in the compition world over the years. And makes a lovely rod. I fish with him on several occasions, hes a right laugh lol.

Thanks all, i am passionate about my fishing and a new rod is going to make me unbearable at home lol.
