Default New rod

Just picked up my new Sage one 5wt, what a beautiful rod, I tried a Rio gold 5wt on it, it is good at short distance, but not so good at distance unless it's me.

Hi Welshfly

My son has a similar rod and I've used it a time or two. I've never had a distance problem. Maybe you just need time to adjust to the new rod action.

Try sending it back to Sage and telling them it's not fit for purpose. Please keep us posted on the correspondence that should ensue!

Lovely rod, Have you tried a 6# on it? Might work, might not, but you wont know if you don't give it a try!
All the best.
