Default melvin closed?

Anyone have any updates on the problems at lough melvin?I read with horror
that the northern side was closed to all angling until further notice.

What I can gather is that the Northern side is closed for fishing due to club/board renogiating a new lease/rights. Dont know how long it will take untill it reopens.

wiggler is spot on there are two leases on the north and one is now pretty much sorted and fishing should start in that section soon the other section may be a month or 6weeks before it sorted
still there's loads of water there even if it was just the southern side

lough gill is open as well but with restrictions not closed as I said in another thread

Is Lough Gill worth fishing for salmon ? I've fished the Mayo loughs for salmon but never any in Sligo

Thanks MM . I'm over there again for a few days in April and again later in May. Usually focus on Carrowmore/Owenmore for the Springers and Mask/Conn for the trout but always good to try a new venue. I note your Leitrim connection. Have you fished Lough Doon ? I see it featured on the NW fisheries board website and it appears to be a very good ( though not well known ) trout lough.
