Default No scales, what weight is this monster dollaghan?

Hi all
Was fishing the sixmile on thr night when this monster smashed my fly. Didnt have any scales and returned the fish back to fight another day.
Was just wondering what weight would you estimate, I'm Hoping it's a double it certainly felt like it.
apologies for the poor photo.[img][/img]

Unless you have exceptionally large hands, I'd take a stab in the dark at 8 to 9lbs, nice catch!

Fish nearly always look smaller on photographs, but then again, we have the old 'holding the fish way in front of the body trick' going on as well. Taking everything in to account I'd say somewhere between 7.5 and 8.5 lb.

Was hoping you were going to ask how I knew.
My reply was going to be it had scales on its back sorry its an old fisherman joke.
Its always a job to estimate fish from pictures, just look at some in the Troutmaster results! a 10lb er can look smaller than one say at 6lb.
Nice fish though and tight lines
Mike

Going to ihave to say not quite a double. If i had to have a bet on it i'd say more than 7.5, less than 10. call it a good 9! lovely fish though!!
