I am fairly new to fly fishing and have a quick question. I am about to buy a bunch of nymphs online but P'm not quite sure the best size of hook to get. I fish creeks where the fish vary in size from 6 in -18 in. I was thinking size 16 would be the best, but maybe 18 would be good too. If you could give any input that would be amazing. Thanks!

It really depends upon the size oif the nymphs the fish would expect to see.

However, sizes 16 and 18 would be a good general size to start with.

the size of the nymph all depends on where you are fishing:
rivers; i fish rivers for trout alot and when i am making nymphs i tend to use hook sizes, from a size 12 to a size 22. i mostly use a B100 size 14 to 18 as i find them very productive. on a lake i would make nymphs on size 12 to 14.

Where did you find the size 18 B100s ?
Can't seem to find them anywhere under size 16s.
