Default Toft Newton Weed ?

I am planning a trip to Toft Newton this weekend - does anyone know what the weed is like at present ? or how its fishing ?

Last time I was there the weed was pretty bad for bank fishing but I know there has been at least one clear out since then

Hi dave
Toft is fishing well, I was there last week and managed 14 mostly on black buzzers with red/green tinsel ribs. Used the washing line method for the last half hour with a spider dropper which they hit hard.

All the weed has gone but there is a bloom of blue-green algae on the windward shore. Loads of fry about right now so muddlers could be a good choice.
Also found a dead double figure bow in the side it must have been 13lb+.

Hope this helps.
Cheers
Tony

Thanks alot Tony

Sounds like the fish are still well up in the water - were there any areas fishing better than others ? were you on bank or boat ?

Hi Dave

I was on the bank (west) struggling with a side wind but it paid dividends, had takes consistently all session.
Depends on the wind but if there's a lack of one I dont think any one spot fishes better than another, have a word with Jason when you get there.
Yes the fish were close in and high in the water lots of fry being chased.

Had lots of refusals to my klink one eventually took but the partridge and orange spider was being hit regularly.

Was the first time I had not seen anyone out on a boat.
Cheers
Tony
