The choice is yours.
There are some restrictions with competitions, ie minimun of 20 inches between droppers etc.
If you are a beginer watch out that your top dropper, on a 3 fly cast, is not going to catch in your rods top eye if you hook a fish on the point.

There is no right answer mate...sorry about that !!

As it all depaends upon the type of flies and methods your fishing and the conditions etc

For example the bung is usually.. 4ft to the bung then 3ft to top dropper, another 3ft to middle dropper and finally 4ft to the point....
if the fish are all coming to the point fly - or you want to fish straight-line nymphs deep you simply take off the bung and add a numph so it allows all flies to get deeper ...so no need to set up again..

for pulling on sinking lines i usually go 5 - 6ft to my top dropper (as this is closest the fly line it always fishes deeper on the drop) then 11 ft to the point.....usually just a 2 fly rig, if i'm giving it the big pull or it's windy !

or alternativlty on a 3 fly pulling cast cast....6ft to top dropper , then another 6ft to middle dropper then 7ft to point... usually a cormorant, hopper of nymph in the middle for the hang

Washing line.....6ft to to dropper 4ft to next dropper, 4ft to next dropper and finally 4ft to the point...

hope that helps a bit
