I start getting depressed this time of year knowing what is around the corner !!

I absolutely hate winter - used to love it when I was a youngster.
Since I live in the USA I was wondering what kind of winters you have in the UK? Do you get a lot of snow - what is a normal low temp? Here is a midwest USA question - is there ice fishing in the UK?

I know Byron is very well aware of the harsh winters living in South Dakota !!
I live in the State of Iowa and you never know what you are going to get. Seasonal snowfall for the winter is above 30 inches but there have been some years that have gone well beyond that mark. Snow can start in September and last until April.

January is usually our coldest month with temps below -0.

Anyway , just curious ! Maybe I will not feel so bad if I know you are miserable too !!
