[QUOTE=sarg;1088018]Cor blimey what a day, could of blown a dog off its chain. How the hell the weather man can get it wrong and get away with it is beyond me. The anchor wouldn't hold at all and drifting was more like speed boat racing. So we headed into clampits and found the wind was so strong it was causing a large eddy in close about 75 yards wide. We sat in the middle of it, by heck it made for a nightmare in its own right. We went round and round like being in a washing and the anchor rope was one side one minute then tuther side the next. Casting was unique, i even managed two full casts with the flies ending up back in the boat with me lol. The fish were around that was one good thing and it was a matter of finding what they wanted. My mate stuck with lures and i preferred the nymphs. We had one each then they switch on the feed for half an hour and i wangled out 6 on buzzer and a silver and red spider. My mate lost 2 on the lures and that was that. All in all a good result but a nightmare all in one[/QUOTE
Gawd save us from incompetent weathermen

. I've had a similar day to you up at Kennick and what myself and my fishing partner found was that the anchors supplied are too small and lightweight to hold bottom when the wind gets up. The ones I use on my local (and much smaller) water are twice the weight and stick like $h!t to a wool blanket.
