Bank House will my rod be OK?
Being new to the fly fishing world, aprt from pollack and mackerel a few years ago I have been trying to catch brownies on my local river, trying being the operative word.
Apart from a very small fingerling trout that dropped off as I tried to swing it to hand and chub I have failed miserably.
Given that I am a bit of a golf nut too there is very little time left of the river season so despite some reservations about stocked waters I really want to catch a trout! So I thought I would try a small stillwater.
After looking on the tinternet Bank House appeals and is not to far from me.
I have a sonik 3 4/5 8'6'' rod and use a 4wt dt on the river. Would my rod with a wf5 floater and a beefier tapered leader and tippet of say 5lb be OK or do I need to use a longer heavier outfit?
Any other suggestions for set-up or tactics flies lures etc would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation of your replies
