Default Is Rio Gold Really Worth £60

So newbie here wondering if Rio Gold is really worth the money. If it is then thats OK, if not what else.

Also how long will it last, I have no idea, assume it's looked after and fished spring, summer and autumn a couple of times a week, would you expect it to last a season, two, three....

I was talking to a chap who said he packs up for the winter, transfers his line to a very large spool, treats it with something to condition and avoid memory, normal practice or nerd?

Lots of people like them, im not a fan having used one for a while, I prefer the greys platinum or snowbee lines.

Rio Gold is a lovely line for sure but any item is only worth what someone else is prepared to pay.

IMHO Rio lines are worth every penny! I have used S.A., Airflo, Scierra, Cortland, Wolf, cabelas and a few other brands over the years but none of them last as long as Rio. I have a Rio Grand on my Tongariro rod that has been thrashed for 3 years and it still floats nice and high and has no cracks.
The Tongariro realy sorts out the good lines as the "sand" is Volcanic ash, it destroys lesser lines.
Having said that I mostly wait for the Tackle shops to have a sale and then stock up on any Rio Lines I need.
All the best.
Mike

are you not a bit biased???
IMHO rio lines do what they say on the tin so to speak!
Given appropriate care and attention they do last a long long time.
Still using a 9/10/11 windcutter spey multi tip purchased TEN years ago!
Think it was £95 at the time!
has out lasted many, many, other brands.
regards
bert
