Default Framoor - Breach of rules used in publicising products in mag

Just been on too the Farmoor forum to check out the current reports and found this thread: Farmoor - Boat Fishing Farmoor 1

Quote:
Dear Admin,
I have just recieved my October edition of Total Flyfisher and refer to an advert by Craig Barr for Flash Attack Trout Flies on page 21.
It says as follows-
"Your FAB Rocket Blob did the business on Farmoor 1 yesterday.
We had 69 fish on the boat and 55 were on that fly-BRILLIANT!"
Keith Harding & Mike-Solihull(June 2011)
Can you tell me why they were allowed to catch and release those numbers when the limit is 15 per angler?
Interesting, I've always wanted to fish F1 in a boat and it looks pretty dam easy, but advertising with total disregard to the rules is a bit of a liberty, at least double limits were reached (unless they were allowed to purchase extra permits?).

Sounds like a great day hauling out that many stockies. That isn't most peoples idea of flyfishing and is a blatant plug for a fly-sellers patterns. If you're in amongst that many suicidal trout they'll take anything.

why is draycote controversial?????
i'm sure craig wouldn't bend the rules to push his productsthat is a ridiculous statement to make
you used various forums to try and punt your flies to me that is advertising a product to try and sell it is it notmuch the same as craig advertises his products to sell them
i have dealt with craig on numerous occasions and would praise his service and quality very highly.

Craig Barr himself has broken no rules as far as Farmoor is concerned. He wasn't fishing. However, by seizing upon the fact that these two characters far exceeded the boat limit in Farmoor 1 and were using his flies to do so, he has shown himself to have a very shabby set of business ethics by using those facts as advertising. I, too, wonder how he would react if a couple of chaps went out on Draycote, caught well over the limit and then advertised the fact that it was on someone else's flies that they did it. I doubt he would be too pleased.

Maybe Craig was not aware of the 'Farmoor' fishery rules?? He manages Draycote yes... and he allows C&R.... those numbers caught @ Farmoor are echoed @ Draycote and Craig has every right to promote his flies as he sees fit! His flies work a treat on many venues (including Farmoor stockies) and, dont drop to bits like many others!! Give it a break guys!! The forum police are at it again.... Anyway..... where the heck is Framoor???
