Default Bank House fishery

Im having a day's fishing at bank house tomorrow (wed 14th Sep) , just after some tips. Any flies that are working well? hot spots? ect. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I've only been once (back in May) and really enjoyed it, despite the fact it wasn't fishing well following an electrical storm the previous night!

A tip I was given by a regular, was to fish buzzers on a long leader, allowing them to drift with the current. Apparently works well most of the time at Bank House. Watch your back cast on the many trees though!..

Tight Lines,

Keith

It's 9 long years since I last fished there, up to which I was pretty much every weekend. Keef's advice is certainly relevant to what I found in those days. I also used to work small damsels and olive wets close to the bottom on a intermediate line, fishing them as slowly as I could. That often seemed to sort out the better fish.

Or you could do what a lot of people do - camp yourself immovably on one of the jetties and pull a bloody great lure back until some overweight, semi tame stock fish is daft enough to take hold. And don't even get me started on the merits or otherwise of suspending an, ahem, 'white buzzer' under a sight bung.

Have fun.

Hi all, had a good day at bank house on wed. Managed to net 6 decent rainbows and 1 brownie. Most of the fish fell to a small black buzzer with a fig.8 retrive around the main middle island.
As always though there is never a bigger fish than the one that got away! This time the monster shot off to the depths with my line and after a good fight got free only for me to later discover that it had straightend my hook.
But overall a good days fishing apart from the odd downpore which stopped the fish feeding for a while.
Would reccomend going there and will be going back.
Tight lines
Rhys

Nice one Trouty. Stopped there one day, but it was just too windy to try. May have a go again now things are picking up.

Good one Rhys!
Sounds like you had a great day. I'll definitely be back there next April, when I'm back down in the area. You should consider trying Bessy Beck fishery too, which isn't too far away. Really good quality fish, and they fight like hell!

Cheers,

Keith
