Default Chesties V Hip Waders

I'm considering getting some boot foot hip waders. How often when wading in chesties could you have got away with wearing the boot footed hip waders ? As stated earlier today on another thread, it's a pain drying out the boots. I'm off to Czech Republic tomorrow and have to take some half dried boots I suppose with boot footed chesties they'd have been dry by now

I have all 3 types, Chest-Waist-Thigh. I find that I wear the waist most often ,even using them as waterproofs when boat fishing.I have bootfoot and stockingfoot. The bootfoot wins everytime.I have only stockingfoot chesties, and find it a pain to get the boots on and off.Much easier since I have lost a bit of my waist.but still a pain.I only wear thigh waders where the rules demand it.
I have neoprene thigh, waist and chesties.but only wear them for winter/spring fishing.even then I still sweat in them.

Thanks Jim, perhaps boot footed waist waders is the perfect compromise

I have been through waders for some 40 years ,can see the point in trouser waders ,love a variety of Chest waders ( neoprene and breathable ) ,but thigh waders ,cant see me ever bothering again ,they just lead to wet bums >

Wet rears , I'm not the bravest of waders !!! and am trying to envisage where the highest the water comes up to me when wading. At the moment Ladbrokes would be offering 4/9 on the waisties and 7/4 the hippies

The wet bottom normally comes because at my age I like to sit down !

Thigh waders aren't much better than glorified wellies. They always seem to bunch up and slip down a bit....and then I end up with water coming over the top. Alternatively, you trip over onto your kneew and water rushes in, or you sit down and get a wet bum. I won't bother with any more either, waisties or stick with chesties.

I rarely wade deep, but there,s always the odd depression to negotiate, so waist waders maybe just a tad limiting, thinking about zip front chesties, makes answering the call of nature easy, especially when its raining!

I'm getting waist waders next, with a zip.

Must be an age thing.
