Default thieving little scrotes

hi folks please be aware that a heap of my tackle has been "liberated" from my garage near leven in fife.

the most reconisable items would be a greys GRXi 9`6" 7/8. A greys GTX 7/8 reel with a 7 weight floater on it and a Hardy Gem MK1 9/10 reel wearing a blue and yellow Hardy floater.

as well as these I lost a brown fox box with about 50 salmon flies and 4 delvin boxs full of trout flies.

If you haer of anything or see a hardy reel kicking about in a car boot sale I`d be glad to know. Failing that remember to lock your sheds up guys!

They will probably be stupid enough to have fling of it down the Leven. Sorry for your loss and I hope the C U Next Tuesdays get lifted for it.
If you want a shot of some gear in the mean time let me know, I'm just along the road in Buckhaven. Jon

Thieving b**tards, sorry to hear that mate.

A good reminder though, had a few issues with sheds getting broken into around Norwich the past year. My kits all locked up the house and out of sight permanently now

My son took his family on three day outing and when he returned his $700.00 bike was gone from the garage. He knew it had to be someone close by in the neighborhood - he lives in an extremely small town.

Pathetic souls. How low is it to steal from a man who has worked to get his belongings.

I am always reminded of a business visit to Japan. I went for a run at about 1pm to get over jet lag, I ended up going down a road which turned into a narrow alley ........ I was nervous ...... then in the middle of this alley was an alcove. It had vending machines: one for beer, one for fags, one for videos, one for hot drinks and one for sweets. I was amazed. Next day I asked my host why they were not raided .......... he looked at me blankly and said with out any irony 'why on earth would any one want to do that'. The point being honor.

No man should get anything for nothing, these people think they are owed something. What is that life can be difficult but we get a free education of sorts ... use it.

My sympathies lie with you indeed.

Back in the early 1970's, I was a pro solo singer/guitarist living near Durham and regularly toured the country for weeks on end.
I was fairly newly married and my father had just passed away so I used to drop off my late wife at her parents in East Yorkshire while I went on tour so she wouldn't be too lonely as it wasn't practical to take her with me as we had a new baby, which meant our home in Durham was left unattended for weeks on end.

Unfortunately, during one of these periods, some tw**s broke in and stole many things including all of my Hardy kit etc, along with my inherited good quality kit from my late father, which really devastated me! Worse still, during the period I was away, my home insurance had lapsed and so couldn't claim for anything.

At the time, I reckoned the value of the stolen gear was around £500.00 or more which was a very tidy sum back then but it wasn't so much the replacement costs as I was earning quite a bit and material things can be replaced - it was the fact that all my father's gear and it's intimate links went in the robbery too which upset me so much and is one major reason why I more or less gave up fishing from that period onwards.

I have only returned to fishing this year and have replaced much of it with mostly good quality vintage stuff and it's not only helping me get back into it but also it's bringing back some of those many happy memories I shared with my late father.

Thieves very often don't just take away material things - they take away things that just can't be replaced and leave one violated.

Unfortunately, in this day of "everyone's a victim" social thinking, very, very few thieves actually get the punishment they deserve!

Tony
