For trout i am told the more wind the better and to fish traditional flies.
Also some good perch in the Loch.
T&S done an article a few months back at camps.

Hi peebster

According to reports by others its a deep reservoir. Its best around the edges, and at the top end where the burns comes in. It's big at 300 acres.

I fished Camps the Sunday before last. Fish took Bibio hoppers - there were a few Heather Flies arround. They also took a Silver Butcher.
I was there in June and as said above taditional wets did the trick as did Sedgehoggs on the surface. Boat or bank is fine, fish rise out from the shore as well as close in.
Wild brown trout in the 8 -12 ounce range at 1100 feet, not a huge amount of feeding so the fish are small and hungry.
If you see this chap give him my regards:

Floater or sink tip and fish the margins using small kates, zulus, pennels, etc Sedgehogs and hoppers work well and if its flat calm get the cdc's on. The top end is the shallower end of the loch and you can wade out in the bay and cover the shallower water. the burn mouth running in at the top end is also very good.
Humungus lures also work !

I think you need to be aware that there is a lot of building work going on up there at present with the 2nd phase of the huge wind farm.and it 'might' just impact on your enjoyment.

As long as I'm not wading through a building site trying to fish , they are an eyesore but iv worked on some of them so won't be much of a shock to see it

Cheers

I usually drive round past whats left of the clubhouse and over the inlet burn. Park after the road takes a left. If the level is normal I start around where the burn runs in and work away from there. Bibio or Kate on dropper and a Silver Invicta on the tail.

The trout can rise freely and usually a black dryfly about #16 does me.
