Hi Skye,
As you know it changes all the time. I was on Menteith on Monday with my club. The mate and I went straight to cages where he took three sharpish on a 3' midge tip with a Kate McLaren. I had the same line on and had numerous follows and swirls to several different boobies and then to an F Fly which I replaced the booby with. However nothing would stick. Just as we were heading off to Malling with the F fly just dangling a nice blue came up and grabbed it, I just about fell out of the boat with the surprise. We then toured Malling, Silage Pit ,The plantation and The Heronry but had only a couple of follows to show for it. Between us we tried floater with dries, then wets, then intermediate with wets and a DI3 with wets and boobies. We decided to head back to cages where I stuck on a DI 7 with a small cat booby. I immediately hit fish with the first four falling off for no apparent reason despite seeming to be well hooked. I then took four on the same fly with numerous other knocks. We headed back to the beach to find that we had got it all wrong should have stayed on the road and particularly the butts with dry flies as the other boys had catches of 12, 10, 8 etc on the dries. sods law. The mate and I did try dries but the only take we got was to me dangling the F fly. They were good quality fish with approx. half of them being blues the biggest was about 5 lbs with quite a few in the 3 - 4 lbs range. All in all a great day.

Hi Skye
I hope you have a boat booked as the lake will be really busy next week due to practice for the Scottish National final on Saturday 10th
If you can't get a boat then you should try Loch Katrine or Loch Arklet for the wild broonies.

Kenny
