Smile Where to move in the UK and Ireland?

A quick question for you all.
As a recent graduate I am currently applying for jobs all over the UK and Ireland. I want to move from Northern Ireland for a while and need to decide on which area to focus on. In the forum members opinions, where would be the best place to live in the UK & Ireland for both the standard of living and, of course, the fly fishing?

Hmmm... You wouldn't do too badly living in the triangle between Bristol, Gloucester and Hereford. You have some cracking fly fishing in all directions. To the south east of Bristol, the chalkstreams and to the south west Devon and the wild moorland streams. Across the channel are the freestone rivers of south wales and the Wye/Usk/Monnow systems - with wonderful wild trout fishing, and just a little further afield the excellent sewin rivers of Carmarthenshire.

The standard of living is great too. Decent shopping for the girls, great local produce for the tummy, cider, beer, need I say more pm me if you want further details.

Have a look at the Ribble Valley, Lancashire. Direct trains to Manchester, 90 minutes to Lake District. Hour into Yorkshire Dales. Lots of tech/engineering jobs. Great schools, very low crime rate, excellent pubs & restaurants, beautiful women...
Loads of fishable water from small streams to big reservoirs. What's not to like?
Of course high house prices can be a downside but they are down at the moment.

I lived in London for 20 years and moving back here was the smartest thing I've done.

Co.Mayo would have to be the place for you to get fish on the Fly.

for trout we got Lough Conn(salmon also), Lough Cullin(salmon also), ,Lough Mask ,Lough Carra and Lough Corrib on its border plus dozens off smaller lakes full off wild brown trout.

we got lough Beltra and Carramore, Furnace and Feeagh to fish for salmon and sea-trout from a drifting boat.

for salmon we got the famous river Moy, the Eirrif, spate rivers in Louisburgh,Newport river, Owenmore,Glenmoy,OwenDuff.

fish for trout in the rivers Robe,Gweestion, Pollagh and Glore plus Clydagh, Castlebar, and Manulla rivers.

plus Dozens off lakes to fly fish for pike.

a few hundred miles off coastline also to try and fly fish.

p.s. sorry if a forgot and loughs of rivers

Mayo is the flyfishing capital off Ireland .
