rivers? still waters? big lakes? small lakes? i do small stillwaters from the bank and boats on larger loughs and lakes... all with my Greys GS 9'6" #7... i will be looking at the 10ft version as they have brought out a few new models and they are now fairly cheap to get... tight lines

What's your budget Tommy, and what sort of trout fishing, rivers, stillwater, boat or bank etc. etc?

Whatever the rod make it a Greys from their medium cost range. There are some really good bargains going around at the moment.

Sonik SK4 6/7wt - either the 9'6" or the 10' if you do a lot of boat fishing.
Brilliant rod for the money and a joy to use.

They're £140 - £150, but you get a free SK4 reel with it at the moment. A steal!

Hope this helps.

I love my Redington Red Fly 2 rods, you can get them for well under £150.

Well worth considering.
