Thumbs up Re: first fish on the fly

Well done. About the rod, there are so many on the market in your price range. Go to your local angling shop & try some rods out. Or ask grommit for some advice. He will sort you out a good deal.

Well done Diesel. You're now in heaven and just imagine if you catch one on a fly you tied yourself-even better!

Your first fish is fantastic and worth it's weight in gold in the way it builds your confidence. When you go and try some fly rods have a go at the Snowbee Diamond. I have the 10' 5/6 weight (I mainly fish small stillwaters) and think it's a superb rod for the money. They are now selling them marked with just the one weight and come in around £130 mark.

Well done on your first fish. Many more to come. As far as rods go, too many on the market in your price range. You need to try a few before buying.

Congratulations! And the best thing is, it doesn't end there... You'll have first fish on a dry, first brownie, first wild brownie, first river fish, first fish on a fly you've tied, first fish on a fly you've designed and tied... there's always another first around the corner. It's great!
