Exclamation Purchasing a fishing beat

I know that this may seem a little bit odd? but after a recent conversation with a local tackle shop owner i have head that the local angling group no longer want to hold on to the river section of their group and that it may be up for purchasing! now when i asked how much they were considering i was informed a couple of hundred pounds! not thousands as i thought. now would in your general opinion would it be woth just to purchase for the next few years and try to rebuild the fishing in this section?? its is a really nice pretty part of the world during the summer months!
opinions welcome.... oh and this aint a hoax or a load of bull! its the guenuine article!

cheers
Matt

As 'Pay to play' is very rare here in the US, why are they giving it up?

Their giving it up as they are more interested in their carp fishing venue. The river has just been neglected for the past decade! Just needs a good manament in place. It's quite close a council estate but very quiet during the day!

Whatever you do do, please do not stock it!

If you want lots of fish of a variety of sizes, including big ones - don't stock it at all and fish C&R only.

2 miles is worth looking after properly.

What is the quality of the water? What are the flows like? Is it polluted? Is it abstracted? Habitat management is the way to go. Stocking is not...

Good luck with your project.
