On the Lakes.
The water has cooled, due to the latest rain and weare currently almost 90% weed free. The fishing over the last week has been very good but not easy. Lots of follows - the difficultly has been in hooking them.

Small nymphs reign supreme at this present time with buzzer and PTN working exceptionally well.

However, a good fly on difficult days would be a black and peacock spider, fished barely under the surface - no more than 2 inches.

This Weeks Fishing Tip

Fishing after rain
A couple of weeks ago, we sent you a fishing tip about fish behaviour. This focused mainly on bright and hot conditions. This tip follows that up, with details of behaviour after rain.

After a heavy rain storm, fish will come up into "The Cool Zone" created by the rain, to feed on hatching pond life.

Now, you probably want to take cover, if it's tipping it down. However, as soon as it eases off- Get out there as quickly as possible because the odds are stacked strongly in your favour.


Troutmasters
Mark Witherington caught a 6Lbs 15oz rainbow on Whitewool lake to a bloodworm. Well done Mark - a good piece of fishing.
