Excellent Customer Service
While we quite rightly highlight retailers with a less than satisfactory approach to customer service on the Forum, I think it's only right that we continue to champion those retailers who go the extra mile.
I recently decided to treat myself (again...) to a nice new Z Axis. And being the practical fisherman that I am, I thought I'd better just get a nice new matching reel for it too...
I ordered them from Sportfish, and they advised that they were waiting on a delivery of the Z Axis. I said I was happy to wait, and when in stock, both rod and reel were duly despatched by super-quick courier.
There were two problems with the order. I've ordered before from Sportfish, and this is most unlike them. Firstly, they'd omitted to apply the discount, and overcharged me, and secondly, there was actually some damage to the rod.
When I contacted them the morning following the delivery, they could not have been more helpful. Sincerely apologetic about the overcharge, they immediately re-credited my card. A courier was despatched that morning with a new rod, which arrived the next morning, and also took away the other one.
Now, we're all human, and anyone can make an error. Even tackle retailers! My real point is that sometimes the worth of a retailer can only really be judged by how they treat their customers when things don't go right. In this respect, Sportfish have been superb.
Thankfully there are still many good retailers out there, and we should continue to highlight the good ones.
