Hi all,

This may help someone when purchasing from Fishtec, I recently went on line to order some goods from them browsed there site placed a number of items in my "basket" went through to complete the order and pay, only to be dragged away by "She who must be obeyed" to do something and completely forgot about my order.

Sorry if this is long winded, here is the good part; I then received an e-mail the following day from Fishtec saying i did not complete my purchase Blah Blah Blah......................Usual sales hype.

Then the following evening tonight another Fishtec e-mail saying that I am a valued costomer and to click this box go straight to My Basket key in this code and receive an extra 10% discount, I have not bought anything on line before from Fishtec, so can only assume that they have got there Sales marketing platform correct and are trying very hard to create good relations with prospective buyers.

So if anyone is thinking of making a purchase it just might be worth it to give this system a try.................Cheers Jim

And there was me thinking, because I had went to the payment part and given my e-mail address that is how they sent me the mail......Oh silly me.

If you didnt complete the transaction, you didnt knowingly send any info!
However if you are a past customer, they have your ip address and e-mail address.
Their tracking cookies relayed the info re your ip address and interest, and indeed the subsequent failure to buy!

Your still talking in a foreign language to me, I know how to start them up and sign onto the internet etc, but any talk about cookies makes me think of choc chip cookies and grub..............Cheers Jim

Ive had the same experience-I now get frequent emails offering 10% discount or free postage -offer valid for 5 days etc.Quite handy ,but you can question their methods.

in general terms, you have left a big footprint on their site which they can follow right to your door!
this is done by downloading a harmless program onto your computer when you browse their site.
it lets them know what you have looked at , and how long you have been there.
problem arises when you visit other sites, they also know which ones!
given your admission that this is rocket science, i assume you are on an older version of windows?
do this.
hit start button on bottom left of screen.
look for control panel icon.
double click to open.
look for internet options button.
double click to open.
in middle of panel is a delete browsing history on exit box.
make sure this is ticked.
directly below this panel is a delete button.
single click this one.
will open a new window
make sure ALL the boxes have a tick in them, then hit the delete button at bottom of page.
depending on how long it has been since you trashed the records, might take a minute or two!
when it has finished, hit the delete button again, some of the fookers hang on for dear life!
do this once a week, and you wont be shadowed!
