Are you just starting out or new to stillwaters? Give us the crack about your rod/line/leader/tippet/flies etc and no doubt some-one will help you along.
Anyway.....only four blanks in a row??

If you generally fish OK on some waters, but have a problem with one then there's something about your fishing that needs changing for that particular water.

It could simply be down to (say) depth, and a longer leader is needed.

Or it might be a different variety of insect life, temperature, casting range to deeper water, or a host of other factors that put that water outside of your normal experience.

The two things to do is

a. Consider in what way the water may be different

b. Watch and talk to other anglers (what flies are they using, how are they working them, etc)?

I know that the water I fish most, I fish quite differently to most other waters, and someone who doesn't know the water might struggle even though I'm catching (or not!).

hi again, the truth of the matter is iam not very good at catching trout, i have the odd good day. the thing for me is not so much catching fish, though of course that is what i want to do, is going for hours on end not getting pulls, takes bites what ever you want to call it. i read loads of stuff about fishing, justhave to keep plugging away at it.
for all that i do enjoy it. will be at sweethope this weekend. god loves a trier.ha ha
