Where can I buy good quality flshing flys?

My friend laughed his head off when he saw my collection and added that he would not use one single one of em. Although im not sure it was a windup :-)

Where (UK) do you buy yours?

Any online shops that are reputable?

Also what should I look for in a fly for quality / use etc etc

Generally, it is a rule of thumb that you get what pay for when it comes to flies.

There are flies on the internet that cost 20-30p but I wouldnt touch them,personally.

Chris Saltwater Fly Shack does a good range of commercially tied flies.

There are other tiers on here who tie up to order and these will be utter peaches!

Post the type of flies your looking for. Several great tiers are on this forum and should be able to sort you out.

I use flies online in Edinburgh, flies are good quality and the service is always good.

Forgot to say, I will be fishing for Rainbow Trout on UK Stillwaters.

Brand new to the sport and growing with confidence with Buzzers.

I get told to use Lures but I dont have much luck with my casting.

Probably a mix of buzzers and drys.

I gave him a call and he spent best part of an hour chatting, told him what I was aiming to do and he made up based of the type of thing he would have in his fly box for those waters, good quality, and he did them a lot cheaper because I bulk bought. But as the others have said there are some cracking tiers on here. Good luck and tight lines

Don't know where you are based, but if I am not tying my own I buy from Lockwood Beck Trout Fishery - North Yorkshire when I am fishing there (50p per fly at the fishery and good quality) or from Orvis (Fulling Mill flies). Fulling Mill are good quality but you will buy cheaper. Also, just bought some (parachute's) mail order from Home - Jubilee Lakes - Angling and Fishing in County Durham, I haven't used these yet but they look well made and arrived the day after order

Forget the Third World Flies that are often pedalled here go to the pros in the fly tying section. You will find your quality there.

Andrew was recommended to me also .. NOW i'm new to fly fishing but i know a quality item when i see one .. I got a few from Andrew and i must say the workmanship is very good .. you can just see it ..

i looked elsewhere before but didn't like the look of a lot of them . many looked very poor quality.
