Arrow Northampton Style???

Having read the phrase "Northampton Style" in a Fly Fishing book, I couldn't work out what it meant. So I was wondering if anyone would be able to shed any light on it??

Thanks,

Yaffle

Just so that everyone knows: the use of "Leeboards" on boats was banned generally throughout the English reservoir circuit because it could be extremely dangerous for use by those who do not fully understand the effects it could have on the boat in high winds.
