Default Ferryhill & District waters

Does anyone know which of the FDAC waters hold pike? I fancy having a go for them on the fly...

Also, the Heddon Haughes & Isle stretch on the Tyne... It looks like its in tidal water. What method should one use? Is it the normal down and across? Do I need to fish on an incoming tide?

Thanks

Gavin

Ferryhill waters – not a member (Durham City AC), so can’t comment on their stillwaters, but the Wear certainly holds pike, although they are always localised.

Knowing only Durham’s current & former stillwaters, I doubt the members of our club would thank you for fly fishing on them, but you’d certainly be OK on the river. I think Ferryhill also have water on the Tees & Swale, both of which contain pike too.

The Tyne is tidal as far as Wylam bridge, if this helps…
