Default Wandle Cleanup

Hey guys,

Been quite some time since I got my head back into fishing mode - and now I can't get it out!

Anyway, just wanted to know if any of you will be heading out to the Wandle cleanup this weekend. Would like to get involved, and would appreciate some info on what to bring - waders, gloves, etc etc. In fact, should I bring my rod??

Also, will probably sneak to wandsworth on the first tube tomorrow morning to try my luck south of the shopping centre. I know it's short notice, but if you're keen to join let me know!

Thanks!

Not been on a clean up for a while but if you are going take drinks as you will work up a thirst ,waders are good especially if you have a pair of tough ones .
Dont wear your good clothes .you will get dirty !
Gloves are provided but you may want to take your own pair of industrial rubber gloves .
First time out do make it early for the Health and safety briefing, and follow the guidance ,its well practiced and not overly restrictive .
re the fishing do the cleanups ,take a rod ,talk to the guys ,there are fish there but the best spots are shared with trusted folks .
Do enjoy it , Tube to wandsworth ,guess you mean east Putney or Wimbledon .wandsworth is sadly poorly served by the Tube .

Thanks Andy! Will take my pro-guides and put them to the test!

Do mean East Putney - and then take a hike over to Wandsworth. Maybe if I bring some scotch I'll become "trusted" sooner than later!

Cheers,
Ignacio

Today's cleanup was a success! We landed a couple of trolleys, a bike, an armchair and even a park bench...just to name a few! Saw some mayflys hatching and lots of underwater insect life and leeches.

Brought my own waders, but industrial waders and gloves were provided. There was the cleanup tent which provided hot coffee and tea, cold drinks and some delicious home-baked snacks. Met a whole bunch of lovely people and can't wait to try it again next month.

Tight Lines!
