Mick, very well said. Especially when you're running a voluntary organisation, as a volunteer yourself, it's immensely reassuring to have a full-time professional on speed-dial to help with technical matters, talking to the EA at their own level (or just as a shoulder to cry on

). The boys and girls at the WTT should never underestimate how much confidence they're giving groups of amateur river restorationists all over the country...
