Default what do you take ???

What do you take as a 'pack up' and to drink when you go fishing.

Is it claret / frois gras
OR
marmite sarnies / vimto

Do you actually stop to eat and drink?

Does it add to the day out or get in the way of fishing?

Insulated container, left in the car, with ham sandwiches, and a flask of hot water for a cup-a-soup or coffee. Consumption is optional, but it's always nice to meet up and compare notes.

On person, a can of cherry coke and a packet of Seabrook crisps. Always consumed during a short break.

Along with the usual sarnies etc, I swear by a bag of raisins n nuts. Even better with chocolate drops in them. Just the thing to pick up the spirits when I begin to flag... usually after I've just irretrievably tangled my third leader.

I don't usually stop to eat. That's when i drift a floating fry close in... sarnie in one hand, rod in the other. Have missed a few fish that way.

In the boat, I'll eat when my partner is rowing.

A couple of sandwiches, small flask of coffee. Water if it's a hot day, eat on the go, no lunch break.

Two sandwiches, fresh fruit, perhaps a bag or two of crisps and most importantly a thermos flak of coffee or tea. Bottle of water if a hot day. I take a lunch break as sometimes it's just as important to take a breather and observe what's going around both on the water and around you.

Once was on holiday at Pontoon Bridge Hotel on Loch Conn Ireland.
The hotel sent you out each day with a 'pack up'.

On this particular day (which was very windy and the liquid sunshine was falling in torrents from the sky) the gillie took us ashore for lunch on a little sheltered island.

As he set about the kelly kettle we unpacked the food from the little hamper.

It was a plated meal of cold chicken leg, salad and roll.

Once the cling film was removed the salad blew off the plate , the roll started to absorb the torrential rain and the only thing edible was the drumstick.

Lesson learned, next day a request was made for sarnies in tupperware.

Normally back on home turf its a bottle of water and fruit
