Default fishing places to take my 2 lads

hi all,
1st post newbie here!

My 2 sons are well into fishing and i am looking to take them for some more overnight camping & fishing.
Tried loch earn so far this year, but this was too busy / full of buckie brigade /early bon fires, etc....

any sugestions?
prefer to be within 2hrs driving from glasgow area.

ps. the 13yr old has started fly fishing but 10yr old is limited to bait / spinning.
I am a keen fly fisher. mostly fisheries but would like to find the time for some wild brown trout fishing.

Hello and welcome to the Forum Mark.

May we assume by talking about the "buckie-brigade" that your are in Scotland?

I am sure the Socttish lads will be on here soon to assist you in your search.

Bruno on here doe s a spot of camping with his young lad so may be able to help

Well being from Scotland I'm sure you are blessed with many an area to fish within 2 hours.

I went on holiday to Loch Tay last year and the river Tay looked awesome for fishing, I mean REALLY awesome (fantastic back drops)

If you wish to come over the border there is plenty of places in the lakes or dales (i think there within 2 hrs of glasgow), the dales rivers are maybe better for trout but I think you will get larger salt water trout and salmon in the lakes. If you are after fishing still waters then lots of the lakes in the lake district are actually free to fish

Fished Loch tay years ago from a boat, not sure if it would be any good from the bank.
In saying that i am sure bait fishing is allowed so my younger son would be kept busy, whilst me and older son tried our luck with flies.

I was considering taking them out fishing this weekend but the forecast does not look good over next few days.
