Hi,

I will be in London on Business the 1st week of September and have a spare day to escape for some fishing. I have contacted a local guide I found on the internet who is proposing he guide me on the Test or Itchen in Hampshire. As a Yank I am totally clueless about fishing in Britain but have of course heard of these two famous rivers by name. Any comments about these 2 rivers? Being from the US I am not familiar with the pay to fish system. Should I be requesting some specific river beats on either of these rivers? Does the beat fee vary considerably on these Rivers? Would this be nymphing or dry flies this time of year? Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Peter. Yes I understand it will be $$ but you only live once. Since my employer is paying for my travel and lodging I feel a bit better about laying out some cash. That said please don't tell my wife.
