Question Chalk Springs

Has anyone fished Chalk Springs lately? My father has a site visit in Littlehampton next week and I was going to book him an afternoon's fishing.

Alex?

Regards

Carl

As Fat Old Git says it seems all stillwaters up and down the country are finding fishing tough right now as the fish are rather lethargic in the warm temperatures and there is a lot of algae around, too. I've been lucky to catch one both times I was out recently here in the northwest, but from reports it's pretty much the same all over-few fish taken and many anglers blanking. Summer fishing on small stillwaters I guess! Probably better on rivers right now though I've not had the chance to do that yet.

Rivers have been horse work at times too, although recent thunderstorms have brought more fish out into the stream. Many less experienced river anglers have been blanking for weeks too.
I was out last Thursday and there was still a reasonable Mayfly hatch on around 7pm, they started hatching this year early April, but never in any great numbers, but over the whole season steadily so far, it's been one strange year!

Bewl is not a million miles away and continues to fish really well from a boat.

Has anybody fished Great Bentley on The Ouse? Looks very good, but might not be the best for older fishermen as has steep banks and needs wading?

I think you will find that there is no comparison between Bewel and Chalk Springs
