Off to Rutland Water tomorrow, taking the kids to the Juniors Day, which they are most excited about.

While they are out showing us oldies how to do it properly I was going to take a trip out myself.

Has anyone got any pointers as to where to go, as I've never fished it before

My youngest is attending this, sadly I can only join them in the evening. I believe a South Easter is forecast and heavy rain too, so if I was fishing I would work the area from New Zealand point down past Normanton Church to the dam wall. Fish could easily be close to shore.

I am taking my kids too.

Only the eldest can do the event so I will have a 7 & 9 year old with me.

Depending on the weather I may take a boat out with the youngest two lads.

The forecasts looking a bit ropey but hey, I'm sure we'll have fun!!

I was out on Tuesday and most boats ended up in the main basin fishing the aerators - plenty of fish out there !!
