Default Now we'll see....

.....just how concerned about fish eating birds anglers really are. It has just been announced that DEFRA are to hold a review into the policy on FEB's. It will be evidence-led and will only go out to public consultation if the evidence suggests that it should. In non-Government speak this means that if anglers can't be bothered to get off their a*ses and report FEB problems on the Cormorant Watch website, keep records and take photographs where applicable, then it will go to the public to decide, ie RSPB etc., and we know what the result of THAT will be!

If the evidence is there then no consultation and DEFRA will act.

Anglers have waited over 20 years for this opportunity. Are we going to act, or are we going to adopt our usual apathetic "let someone else do it" stance. This is your one chance to get the law on FEB's changed. Don't screw it up.

There is a link somewhere in one of the threads to the cormorant watch site and I have used it to report sightings.
The situation is getting worse in Cornwall now but not so bad as in other parts.

Years ago we had a one day open season on saw bills on the Findhorn, every strech of the water had guns on it, it help control the numbers and save a lot of smoults, not allowed now. Was good fun as well!
