Default tavistock with a mate

My work employee sea fishes and last week he asked if he could use some of my fly gear and take him fishing. Well it would of been rude to say no lol. Anyways we went to a field mid week and gave him a tutorial, and had a great laugh. I lent him the rod and reel for the rest of the week and told him to practice. 7 clock came today and we set off for tavistock trout fishery. The weather was not in our favour flat calm and hot. The fish just weren't up for it like they usually are.

You could see plenty swimming aimlessly around including a couple of larger specimens but it was only a few splashy risers and that was it. We set up with buzzers and diawl backs and i had one on my oh buzzer but that was it. So i set him up with a klinkhammer and he had several takes but just couldn't connect with one. I took another 3 fish on klinkhammers and lost more than i care to mention including another huge brown grrrr. Then 5 minutes before our ticket ran out he finally connected with one, not huge about a pound and a half but he's made up, he's now sparking up the barbecue ready for a party with trout as main course lol. I think he did well today, his casting though short wasn't whipping the water into a froth and he stuck at it.
Got a text from him 5 minutes ago can we go again soon lol. What have i created lol

Tavistock - always a good stillwater venue.
