Default Why?

Why do people showcase their ties in a dry state? Wet the fly and then take a picture of it. This will give you a true representation of what the fish will see. Not the fly pattern that is on a vise looking like it's been under a hairdryer and had a complete makeover!

Because they are often demostrating an art form. Catching fish is another matter altogether.

I don't believe that to be true. One example is the guy with the Yellow Owl pattern. He isn't wondering about art form. He wants to know if it will catch fish.

That would mean all wet flies being filmed under water in motion. As that is the only way you could see the action of the fly. So on that note, i think your thread to be pointless. As it's already been pointed out, the fish have the final say!

You're more than pointless with your silly comment. If what you say is true, then why would someone ask anyone, anything, about any pattern, if the fish have the final say? I said nothing about the action of a fly.

Do you realize how dumb you sound?

Time for you to seek professional help, or at least take the medication you have already been prescribed.
