Tried the streamers for the first time for a couple of hours this evening on the river Wharfe, which was falling after rain but still high and fairly coloured. I got loads of pulls, lost a couple of acrobatic half pounders, and landed a half pounder and a 2 pounder! Well chuffed - it's definitely a permanent addition to my armoury from now on

.
All the fish came to this fly I knocked up last night, which is a variant of a pattern on this page
here: Do you fish streamers?

A really simple fly to tie but it's got great movement and certainly did the trick!

Pink tungsten bead, red hen hackle wing, red holo tinsel and peacock herl body. I don't really tie a lot of flies (it tends to be a train wreck

) but I think I'll have a bash at doing some wooly bug.gers as I'd like to try them out.
