Default What would you do?

Well, it's getting closer to our holiday in Scotland (wife and I, a week in a cottage right on the bank of the EsK). I knew at the time that I would probably need to pay for the fishing, and was ok with this. What I wanted to do was maybe say "I'm going to the river for a couple of hours" and just go.
I'm not that experienced -so is £262, going to be money well spent. Part of me thinks well yes it it...but then, if I don't catch???? I know it's about more than catching. I could go for cheaper beats, but that's not the same as casting pretty much from your doorstep. I could get a day ticket here and there. Or should I just bite the bullet and go for it? Which is what I'm leaning towards
What would you do?

Baz

Keep an eye on the weather Baz.
If it continues to rain until your hols, and keeps raining whilst you are there, then you may not be able to fish at all on the river. If it is good weather conditions, you may have a prime beat on the river and could be worth every penny. River fishing is different from stillwaters.

I would wait until you get there. I am sure you will always have the option to pay for the fishing, but waiting to see what the beat is like and what condition the river is in before you shell out, could save you quite a bit.
