Default Rod section in the car door!! Insurance?

Morning all

Managed to trap my second section in the car door yesterdy, dont suppose the lifetime guarentee covers acting like a right plonker, as I am sure that I am not the first on to do this, has anyone managed to get it paid for on the insurance?

All the best

It normally does, if it is unconditional.

I've been a right plonker also and broken loads of rod sections in car boots, doors, and trapped under seats. My rods are mainly Greys and I haven't had a problem over the years. The cost of replacements sections has doubled over the years but what the hxll my rods are worth repairing.

Check with your rod manufacturer I'm sure you will find your rod is covered if it's a good rod.

You havnt stated the make of rod but most warranties will cover this type of damage.Claiming on your insurance may be a waste of time when you take into account the size of your exess and the possible affect on your next years policy premium

all the best Nick

I broke the tip section of my Loomis a few years back in just this way. Cost me around 100 pounds for their expedited warranty which provided me with a brand new rod.

Most warranties will cover materials and workmanship, so accidental damage may be a big ask.
