Default Felt Sole Glue

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good (over the counter) glue to stick my soles back on?

Funny thing was, I saw a felt sole in the grass on the way out last night and ignored it, on my way back I picked it up and realised it was mine from the previous night out Then realised the other one was pretty much off as well

GG1044402 - Gorilla Glue - 115ml - | Gorilla Glue Online (MAP UK)

both mine came off ,they wont again ......,i lost mine whilst wading ... me personally i would get new soles unless you can get yours spotlessly clean otherwise you will be trying to glue dust back on ,i rubbed the rubber soles with oxide paper until nearly all old adhesive had gone ,then wet the rubber sole and dampened the felt sole then spread the glue over the rubber sole not to thick as this stuff expands ,wait until it starts going cloudy(yellow) then stick the two together i used duct tape to hold them on whilst set ..

no problem , the oxide paper cuts into the sole as well to give the glue something to bite onto rather than a smooth surface if you put new soles on its worth spending a bit more to get the pre cut to size ones instead of the one size fits all and trying to cut them down yourself , itried them with my thigh waders it can be done but a pain in the ass

They are Snowbee waders, Perhaps they can supply the bespoke soles - Snowbee is only just down the road and very helpful so I might just pop in on Monday.

Thanks again

NOTHING sticks felt soles, and keeps it sticking, like SIKAFLEX. Try it. You won't be disappointed.

I went to Snowbee, they were kind enough to give me the repair glue stuff. I used the original soles as they hadn't worn too much at all. I then coated one side in the adhesive, leaving to set for a couple of days (to ensure they were non porous). The boot soles were rubbed down with oxide paper, then I glued and clamped the things together.

I left these clamped for 2 days and then wore them for 1/2 an hour in very straight forward conditions (a sandy bank) - they fell off again

I went to B and Q and bought a tube of Wet Grab - it really is the dogs danglies; the boots will have to fall apart before this stuff gives up - really very good and readily available

+1 for this - I've used Sikaflex to re-attach old felt soles as well as new Snowbee soles and it's brilliant having the advantages of being a) waterproof and b) flexible - just don't get any on your clothes.

Gorilla Glue and Barge Cement are both good products avaialable on this side of the Pond. But the best fix is to hand the boots over to a shoe repair shop where they'll glue AND sew on the felts. That's the only sure way of a 100% fix.
