Grey if you mean the far side were the trees are then yes,but there was also room on the dam wall which i was told that is the deepest part and on a bright sunny day that is were you would expect the fish to be.Dont get me wrong i enjoyed the day out, caught 1 and lost 2.At this time of year you do expect the fishing to be hard but that is the challenge,it is for me.Like i said it just suprised me that they were sat on there chairs and would not move. Its a bit like the people who go to the supermarket they always want the empty parking space closest to the store, same yesterday nearest peg to the car park.

In BK's terms i'm a "flitter" - for us it's very frustrating to be trapped in one spot because "stickers" are happy to retain their pegs. Still each to his own i guess. I think those in the know at press hold those pegs because the prevailing wind hits the far bank and very few seem able to cast into it - same for the damn wall, although at this time of year it can be more productive as the water is deep. Even on a still day that breeze can whip up and die again in no time. I've found with press that the fish lie somewhere towards the middle and often just out of my casting range

coming in later in the evening - just at closing time

Not my favourite venue but close to home. You'd have been better on a boat horses, left corner near the reeds - can't be reached from the bank, and you can up oars whenever you fancy
